Who we are
PEAI is an English academy located in Daechi-dong, Seoul South Korea (Gangnam Area). PEAI has dedicated itself to enhancing creative and critical thinking among grade 2-9 students through student-centered experiential project-based learning for the past 17 years ever since 2006, producing some of the finest independent-minded students in Korea. We’re committed to champion for students, promote a higher order thinking approach and turn out independent, self-driven learners and communal working environment among teachers.
Who we are looking for
We are in need of teachers experienced in teaching creative and critical thinking and who know how to run project-based learning in collaboration with coworkers, including formal debate. Furthermore, the teacher should be able to work autonomously and will have the freedom to execute lesson plans as they see fit.
Job Description
1. Full Time Position available in July 2026
2. Do R&D work for curriculum development and Sub for teachers on vacation , teach multiple subjects (literature, speech & formal debate, writing, vocabulary) on the side.
3. Work Hours: 30 hours a week ( M-F), or 6 hours a day( M-F),2:30 – 8:30 when working for R&D.
Working hours are subject to change when subbing either 3:20 – 9:40 or 3:30 – 9:50 ( Work hours are subject to change, depending on grade you’re subbing.) One hour early presence before class is required for subbing.
Job requirements
1. Research and designing capability
2 Previous teaching experience at highly known Daechi dong –based academies for more than one year, Reminder: test-prepping focused, score-raising intent private academies wouldn’t count.
3. English literature or humanity majors with debate teaching experience is preferred.
4. Previous experience of teaching student-centered and experiential learning through activities such as writing, and speech presentation preferred.
5. Organization skill with a strong work ethics
6. Be legally able to work in Korea with an F 4 or E 2 visa with a 4 year university degree in liberal arts majors from Native English speaking countries
Compensation
1. Pay range: 3.5 million won for working 30 hours a week. Subbing on Saturday ( 10 am – 1 pm ) allows you to have Monday off.
2. Autonomous teaching guaranteed with guidelines and provision of text books
3 Two week paid training necessary ( Depending on your experience, training schedule is flexible. )
4. Vacation: 11 paid vacation days guaranteed.
5. No housing is available but we may help you find accommodation upon request
7. All national holidays off (red letter days)
